Quite decent baggage car model that falls short of a 5-star rating in a number of areas
This is a quite decent baggage car, and looks good in a consist. It falls short of a 5-star rating in several areas.
There is no brake wheel on either end of the car. Under-body detail is very minimal. The bottom of the sides do not curve as much back underneath the car as they should. The ends seemed designed to have truck-mounted couplers, as there is a wide area for coupler swing. However, the couplers are mounted to the car body. I like the car-body-mounted couplers, but the wide area should have been filled with end detail next to the coupler instead of having a big gap. This is not that noticeable when coupled in a train. The fact the door stirrups are kind of bulky is not all that noticeable, either.
The finish and lettering is very nicely done, but there is no car number. You'll have to add that. The car rolls smoothly.
So this is a good "4-foot model", in that it appears good from a normal viewing distance, but upon close-up examination, it has the short-comings mentioned. This model is not quite up to Walthers (Life-Like), Kato, Micro-Trains, Wheels of TIme, and Rapido standards, but I am glad I bought them, as this particular style baggage car is not currently manufactured by any of the other manufacturers. I believe most modelers will be glad they purchased them.

One of the best house shoes I've ever owned
This is my second purchase of this product. The first pair are still wearable, but I purchased my second pair in case they quit manufacturing this product. Though these are described as outdoor shoes, they are perfect for lounging around the house in. This is one of the most comfortable pair of house shoes (sandal type) that I've ever owned. Some, and I've had several, actually hurt the tops of my feet, but this one does not. The cushion sole is nicely designed. The shoe's straps are not adjustable, but they fit my wide foot very well.

Microtrains 70' baggage car very detailed
This 70' baggage car by Micro-Trains is very nice. The main thing I noticed that probably should have been there is grabirons on the ends of the sides and at the doors. A brakeman riding the stirrups at the car ends has nothing to hold on to. Likewise, somebody stepping up into the doors (which have stirrups) has nothing to. The car does not have full diaphragms, but has a suggestion of a diaphragm on each end, to which actual ones could be attached. From a normal viewing distance, the lack of these details is not really noticeable. Other than those items, the model is well proportioned, has a lot of other detail, and looks very realistic. The underbody detail is superb. The model comes with MT couplers, which is the standard nowadays for N scale equipment. On a scale of 1 to 10 (and I don't give 10s), I would rate this model an 8. Definitely worth having if it fits the era you model. I have two of these, and plan on getting at least one more.
