Good movie, great book!
I'm a big Anne Rice fan, so I had read the book already. The movie was good, Aaliyah really made the queen role hers. Tom Cruise's role in "Interview with A Vampire" - the vampire Lestat - is played by Stuart Townsend, who keeps the role dark and sensual as Anne Rice intended.
The movie starts out with Lestat waking up in a new tattoo, rock, and goth world, with a grand plan. The plan succeeds (don't want to give too much away) and awakens then ancient ones, including the Queen of the Damned, who has her own plan and takes Lestat with her to fulfill it. The soundtrack rocks, especially if you're part of the tattoo, rock, and goth world.
The movie doesn't follow the book precisely, mostly shortening and simplifying to fit in the 90 minute movie format. Overall a good movie worth seeing twice.

Edgier, earlier White Stripes
Didn't discover Jack White and The White Stripes until their later albums, and I bought all of them. This was a refreshing earlier version of those talented twosome, and it rocks!. I've been bingeing on it since it arrived, a little edgier than their later efforts, well worth it!
