Essential piece of fitness equipment
This product is an essential piece of fitness equipment which can be used at any level from slob to athlete. Pretty much anybody who has been involved in sport or the fitness industry would know about it. I have been using a device like this for many years and why I purchased this particular one is because I gave away 2 others I had to people I trained in the use of them so needed one for myself again. I picked this one because of the neutral colour and it seems a well made example of the item. Even if you are not interested in being fit you should be, so grab one of these and get off the couch.

Very average performance for name brand product.
1 of 1 found this helpful Extremely light weight, no substance. Image & video quality is reasonable but controls are not easy to use. Hand held video zooming is difficult due to lightness of body. Easy card insertion but unusual format trying to read the files. Have viewed on Windows & Mac, files easier to open on Mac. This was a "refurbished" item at a reduced price but still 2 x the price of my basic old "no frills" cam & no better picture quality. Weird way of charging battery. Quality of video nowhere near my DSLR. Pluses are: The light weight makes it easy to carry, screen rotation is good & it's easy to remove the memory stick.

Barely useable for intended purpose.
Barely adequate as a voice recorder, playback sound is nowhere near what is expected from advertised dual microphones & appears to have multiple problems when plugging in external mic. I bought this to use with external microphone & it will not perform with any of my various ones that work functionally well with any of my other devices. There are a range of problems with external mics which are too many to detail here. Also a very big negative is Olympus customer support - the phone number is disconnected & the online email contact requires far too much information to share with an unknown party.
