No programming needed
This works out of the box with my Samsung Smart TV. Better than the small remote that comes with the TV. Buttons are lighted, and unlike some remote models it has a button to turn on the lights so you don't need to randomly hit a button and possibly change a setting.

Excellent EHD
I have been using WD external drives with my DISH receivers. One finally died and they don't seem to have many choices anymore for powered drives. Looking around I saw the Verbatim at reasonable price and tried it. Best drive I have used, fast quiet. Worked immediately with my DISH receivers.
