Maida Heatter never disappoints.

As with all her cookboks, Maida Heatter writes clearly, concisely, in a down-to-earth style, even with her her more "upscale" cakes and desserts. I have never had any problems following a recipe through to the end, and always with great results. And heres something refreshing, every one I have ever tried is yummy! Which is something a Maida Heatter book is famous for. Absolutely reliably good tasting food. In, Cakes, there is something for everyone. From the simply made, Plain Cakes, to the more complicated, Fancy Cakes. I wouldn't hesitate to try every one, with all the confidence in the world.
