The needles were an incredible buy. They were packaged carefully and I received several updates regarding their projected arrival date. They actually were delivered early, coming from 3,000 miles away at a more than fair shipping cost. I can't wait to share them with friends when they have a project requiring a larger, diameter needle. These sizes are rare to come across in the interchangeable format, thus making them quite desirable. Thank you for the opportunity to purchase this beautiful set.

The Four of the Apocalypse Blue Underground DVD Lucio Fulci Western

Save your money
I like a good western. Even a good spaghetti western. This film is a dud from start to finish. There’s nothing to elevate it from other lackluster cash-ins beyond one quick moment of heavy foreshadowed cannibalism. That’s it. There’s no real purpose behind this film and the chance encounter leading to a revenge killing had no momentum before, during or after. Just...blah. For the money it’s being hawked for, definitely a rip-off.

Good attempt-flawed execution?
Wow. This is a premise explored before from Stephen King’s ‘Cell’ through a number of U.S. knock-offs of Asian horror cinema. The film held a lot of promise as a wide ranging exploration of tech caused psychotic mind control/alteration. It really had well written scenes and characters that one would want to see where their actions take them in a world turned upside down in mere moments with all our televisions, cable/phone services being the delivery system of a mind altering desire to murder everyone around you. ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ on steroids. But. This was directed in three segments with the second segment bookended by beginning and ending set pieces of serious dread-filled story while the second, middle, element could easily have dropped into ‘Shaun of the Dead’. It TOTALLY took me out of the story line. It was an entertaining bit of dark, bloody comedy but that’s the problem. We go from a build up of encroaching horror….stop to take a side road for some blood soaked Bugs Bunny cartoon antics….then, back to the dread and horror. I can recommend this only because there is some good stuff here. However, I think that this should have been left to directors #1 and #3 with a second film helmed by director #2 who did a pretty good job with darker comedy elements. Mashing this all together just kind of ruined the film -for me. On the other hand, perhaps the centerpiece was a Hail Mary pass to immerse viewers into the outer edges of the psychosis that manifest after viewing or hearing The Signal. Worth a watch just look for it on sale.

Deserves More Appreciation
So....tons of controversy about this film. Missed the mark at the box office. Some ERB fans were a little miffed at some of the changes and “grafting” that happened to this film. The ERB Mars books were the progenitor of almost every space fantasy that has come since. Star Wars included. The film, apparently, did not get proper marketing. Yeup. True that. That’s a shame, too, because there were to follow, many more ERB stories. The film, itself, was the best entertainment to be released in that particular year. Even with the plot changes and some inescapable holes, it still held together to give a great ride through a world only imagined. A world invented almost 100 years ago. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. If you have seen it, and liked it, buy a copy for someone who hasn’t.
