Jazz on a Summers Day (DVD, 2000)

A slice of Americana
A slice of Americana, this film captures not just some of Jazz's greats, but the people who made their way to the Newport Jazz Festival to enjoy the music. Unscripted, the film is catches of life caught on the fly, children playing, lovers canoodling, and people of all backgrounds coming together to enjoy music.. Bert Stern's amazing eye collected film snippets like snapshots, and then wove them together into a marvelous whole.

A Loopy Classic
A loopy classic. Not unlike "The Big Sleep", almost no one can tell you what the heck is going on, but it's a riotous ride, and turns funny, touching mysterious and sad. The acting is beyond brilliant and the musical set pieces are more dazzling than any Vegas show.

Book on the history of French interior design
This book is probaly the touchstone on the subject of French interior design, from the earliest times through the year 1875. It is comprhensive, detailed and lavishly illustrated. While scholarly, it is emminently readable and understandable by the lay person. If this volume were translated into English, it would be a bible to ever major interior designer and historian on the subject.
