Good replacement

So,I have a 2014 Bailey unicorn Valencia bought from new. A plastic prong on a backing plate in the locking mechanism of an access door broke and I couldn't source a replacement part so had to purchase a full unit.This door I bought is a perfect replacement it is like for like.However the problem I have now is.Do I remove the plastic lock mechanism from the new door and replace it in the old unit.or do I attempt to remove the full unit and replace all of it. That is my problem though
