How to replace worn out stilletto shoe heels

High heel tips wear down quickly. When the nail is visible, it is time to replace with new ones.
  1. Measure the tip of the worn out stiletto heel using a ruler or tape measure (cross-section).  This is to ensure you get the correct size as some heel tips measure 10mm x 11 mm.  There are many other sizes available. Most common sizes are 9mm x 9mm, 10mm x 10mm or 12mm x 12mm.
  2. Use pliers to firmly pull out to remove the worn out heel tips.  Depending on how stubborn the worn out heel tip is embedded, slowly twist it off in circular motion pulling it simultaneously until it comes off.
  3. Wipe clean around the heels with the rag before you position the new heel tip into the hole.
  4. Place the new heel tip by inserting into the hole with a hammer until it fits with no gap in sight.
  5. If the hole is bigger than the pin, apply some silicon or super glue on the pin before inserting into the hole. This will ensure it reinforces the grip. If the new replacement tip is slightly bigger or wider than the heels or it does not  fit the shape of the heels exactly, just file the edge with sandpaper until it aligns.

Congratulations! You have just successfully learnt how to repair your shoe heels by replacing your worn out heels and imagine how much you would save $$$.

Walking can sometimes scratch your favourite designer or your most comfortable shoes and can wear out the heels very quickly. That will mean, having to replace the tips again.

To prolong the life of your heel tips as well as protecting your favourite shoes, it is recommended to get heel protectors or reviver. They are available in various sizes.
They protect your heels from damage - avoid stilettos sinking in the grass or drain gutters.

Give your beautiful collection of high heel shoes the needed care and protection, whether on soft ground or grass at some outdoor functions. Protect your heels and prevent those accidental slip and fall on the dance floor. They also render protection for your floor from heel marks, dents and scratches, especially wooden or parquet floors.
