Keep the design simple so that it does not date; keep to neutral colour's if you plan on resale, but if it's your own home forget fashion and do something that reflects you and your home. Especially if you been waiting for years to redo your bathroom.
If you are not sure what you like have at look at a few showrooms with displays and buy a few magazines as these are a great way of getting inspiration, tag the pages you like and show them to the sales representative when you go in. Also a great place to get inspired is right now on your computer by using Google images type in bathroom images and many idea and images will pop up . I have also recently come across a free app for ipad called Houzz this have over 5000 images of bathroom, kitchen outdoor space idea's from all over the world. Great for getting some idea's.
Classic ceramics has over 2000 tiles to choose from so we are bound to come up with a similar look to something in a magazine.
Always bring in your house plans as this way the sales staff will know everything they need to know about your bathroom from bathware layouts to size of the bathroom. If you don't have plan's draw a simple plan out with some measurement's to give idea of size.
If you have a budget ( and who does not these days) tell the sales representative so they can help you get something in your price-range - you can get complete tile bathroom packages from $500 to $20 000, so a huge difference.
I hope this is helpful and please don't hesitate to email me with any questions and have a look at our eBay store ClassicCeramics online and Classic ceramics clearance stores. Mark yes below if this has helped you.
