Security camera resolution is a measurement of the security cameras clarity. A security cameras resolution is determined by the number of horizontal video lines that the security camera needs in order to reproduce the desired image. The higher the resolution number, the sharper the image will be.
A typical CMOS camera has 380 TV line resolution, a camera with CCD sensor usually is 420 TV line. You may find some high end cameras have 480 or higher TV line resolution.
