A good fit for budget scales with 0.1 g resolution
This is some sort of cast and plated metal product, with no signs of trimming, so I don't think it's super accurate. You're not going to get NIST traceability, but consider how cheap these are. These are more than accurate enough for my scales, and good for other budget scales with resolutions no finer than 0.1 or maybe 0.01 g. These allowed me to confirm the accuracy of one of my 1 kg scales (within one 0.1 g count, for each piece individually and all pieces combined), and to find a +0.7 % error in another 5 kg scale. Another scale with 0.001 g resolution revealed errors in the ballpark of -25 mg, but that other scale has firmware which tries cheat its user into thinking it's more accurate than it is, snapping to whole numbers, so it made it very difficult to tell the actual values of ... I bought this set to verify and calibrate a few small scales I own. The set has more sizes than I needed but was less expensive than buying the the 3 individual sizes was after and they came with a storage box. My expectations were not high and they are nicer than I had anticipated. This is a good economy set for the price are very acceptable for home and hobby applications. There was no mention of "class rating" in terms of calibration accuracy but I have compared them to a set of Class M2 OIML rated weights and they seemed to match right on.I bought this set to verify and calibrate a few small scales I own. Cheap, non-certified, these can be made perfect...
We have purchased several of these sets over the years and so far, most all have been a fraction over weight (which is a good thing in comparison to being underweight). As an example, the 500 gram on last set had a mass of 500.52 grams. We simply file the threaded end of lift handle (they screw out) until perfect weight on a certified scale... and it does not require much. Now, if they are underweight, that would require screwing the lift handle out and adding weight... we use lead bird shot pellets from shotgun shell that will compress when threading lift handle back in. You don't need much, so if you don't have, just get a few grams from a re-loader.
