I read a borrowed copy of this book, and found it to be so enjoyable that I wanted a copy for my family to read, also. The dry style of the author came through, and I had so much trouble reading bits to my wife - I kept cracking up. For a control freak like me, that was hard to cope with, but it was so much fun. For instance, my sons and daughter are into giving parties for their children, so the description of the author's attempts at supplying activities at his child's parties was just hilarious because I could easily imagine my kids doing something like the author. It is hard to compare this book with others I have read recently. It is one of a kind, and I am so glad I have a copy for my ongoing enjoyment
If you grew up in redcliffe penninsula, qld, in the 70s, its a must have. Great memories, combined with williams great wit, its a fun, lighthearted read.
