Not illustrated. 1798 Excerpt: ...regent masters deliver their votes, written in the above form to the scrutators, whilst the bedel calls at proper intervals, -'... Ad If several candidates be minated, and an equality of votes should happen for two or more persons, the regius professor in divinity determines which of them is to be returned to the senate, Stat. 34. x Ad scrutinium secundo; Ad scrutinium ultimo; ' And after all the votes are given up, ' Cejsatum est a scrutinio. The senior proctor writes his vote and declaration of election, in the following formj Ego A. B. senior procurator hujus academi (eligo et) a vobis eleSlum pronuncio, C. D. in protobibliotheCarium hujus academi . He takes the votes of the other electors, and his own paper, to his place, and (the junior proctor standing by him) he reads one vote at length; and for each of the rest he says, Eundem eligit A. B. Last of all he prounces the election according to the paper he has written. If there has been an opposition, the scrutators count the votes, and give the lesser number to the senior proctor, who (with the junior proctor standing by him) publishes them at his place. He then reads the votes for the person chosen, and from his paper previously prepared, Ego A. B. seniorprocurator, &c. The person elected goes to the table, and takes the oaths of allegiance and supremacy, and the oath of office; Jurabis quod omnes et Jingulas ordinationes officium tuum concernentes, pro parte tua, juxta vim, for mam, et effeBum earundem, bene et fidelitur cbservabis et adimplebis.
