This is an amazing science curriculum for the elementary grades! By going above the "grade level" of the student it truly instills not only an excitment about the topic but for science in general!!!! It teaches the kids how to LEARN real facts and not just bites of watered down information. It really unleashes a students potential. I waited until 2nd grade to begin the series because that would be 1 book a year until beginning Exploring Creation with General Science (in 7th grade) and it really works out excellent! My daughter was much more able to not only learn the information but also to have long term retention starting in 2nd grade! That is why I will personally not being this until 2nd grade with my younger children as the difference in retention in 1st grade vs. 2nd grade is huge. It gives the student kindergarten and 1st grade to learn what science is before really digging in! We did Astronomy in 2nd, Zoology 1 in 3rd, Zoology 2 in 4th, Zoology 3 in 5th & Botany in 6th and my daughter is MORE than ready to being Exploring Creation with General science next year in 7th grade!! I will NEVER go to another science curriculum again!Read full review
This book is in many different sections which is great for reading a little each day. It all gives credit to the creator God. I have multiple ages of children and it engages all of them. Also has examples of different experiments that go along with the reading and uses simple home products.

We homeschool our child and belong to a co-op at our church. Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 was the recommended book and I am so glad. As an educator in the public schools for 15 years, I have seen a lot of text books. This one is written in a very logical sequence, appropiate pictures and diagrams, and pronunciation guides throughout to help with the vocabulary. It also includes a website to enhance learning. I highly recommend any of the Exploring Creation books!
I really love this book. The content is very easy to read and understand. The experiments at the end of each lesson are easy to understand and also use common household supplies for each experiment. I have also used other books by Jeannie Fulbright and have been very pleased with them. This is why I decided to buy this book also.
The thing that I like most about this science series above others that I have reviewed or used is the multiple learning styles that they incorporate into each chapter. Visual (beautiful bright real pictures), auditory (reading the book to your child or them to you), Hands on(making the ocean boxes), and exploration with the science experiments. Using all the different levels of questioning in Blooms to advance thinking skills in your child and their level of questioning. Over all an A+ science series.
