I would dearly love to write a review of this new DVD title. As a long time Classsic Lotus owner and enthusiast it has particular appeal. Unfortunately I am in no position to be able to fulfill this task as the vendor from whom I hoped to have purchased this film has not supplied the two copies I sent payment for - this dates back to late January 2007, I am writng this review on 5th March 2007. I ordered two copies, one for myself and the other as a gift to a friend and fellow Lotus owner for his 50th birthday. "Add lightness" as Colin Chapman founder of Lotus Cars and Team Lotus preached, watch this space as they apparently say in the media.
Probably not what you want of you are loking for technical details. Early footage of Mk1 through 6 was quite informative. Some interesting interviews (Keith Duckworth etc.) and perhaps too little time on the detail; some less interesting interviews with owners at a classic show, especialy regarding a Lotus Carlton and a couple of highly modified Europas - I would have been more interested in hearing more about the cars as Lotus intended them. A bit too much time on the Elise and the then current Lotus services (remember this is 9 years ago) for my taste (I own an S2 Europa). Coverage of the Elite, Elan and Europa was okay in an easy watch magazine style. Driving focus was on the Esprit and the Elise.
fantastic DVD. Well worth the money and the time too watch it!
