After watching Suspiria, Inferno & Deep red I was very intrigued about viewing this film after reading reviews. After doing so I would definitely place this in the top 5 best Argento movies I have watched. It’s more of a Giallo thriller than a straight up horror film, however elements of sheer horror are mixed in especially when it comes to the kills. There’s some great camera work and a brilliant soundtrack which is common place in an Argento film. The film uses a who done it? Format similar to Bird with the crystal plumage, Opera & Deep Red. A writers trip to Italy to promote his new book is turned into chaos when young women keep getting murdered by a maniac who is believed to be one of his fans. Fearing for his life he decides to try and track down the killer. Aiding the cases detective (Who is also a fan of his work.) The murders are brutal and artful. The double twist is quite a shock. Ninety minutes or so will fly by and it’s well worth your time. It’s got all the brilliant components that come from a classic Argento movie. Gore, thrills, innovate camera shots, suspense, grisly murders, gorgeous set pieces , Goblin and of course the red haired women who is in most Argento films somewhere.Read full review

I think this is one of Argento’s lesser seen and underrated films. Gorgeously shot mostly in the daytime in intentionally over lit sets this in one of Argento’s last great films before the quality really started to slip.
