I bought 3 sets for our video editing company and they work great. It really does cut down ambient noise around you. We're in a cozy, open-plan office with lots of computers and people clicking away on the editing videos and lots of conversations about the projects. Once I put on the headphones and turn them on, I can finally think and not be distracted by others. They are super comfortable over the ear headphones, I have a semi large head and have no problems slipping off or not fitting. It takes (1) AAA battery for the set and they last at least a month or so if you use them like we do. Be careful to turn them off after use, they don't have an auto-off function. It will drain the battery pretty quick if left on. I'm an Audiophile and these are not to be trusted to mix music with. Any other practical use they'll work fine, even editing audio for video, which is primarily what I do. Listening to music, for the price they sound great.Read full review

Little disappointed 😥 For what these Headphones cost. There is no volume control, other then your device. Also I hate the fact it requires the use of one AAA Battery to operate. That is not just for the noise cancelling feature. They won't work without it installed. The Batteries don't last long either. I read it's like every 35 hours you need to replace. Even with a rechargeable it's a bit excessive, if you use frequently.

I bought one of these fifteen years ago through Bose and they would send me foam ear pads and cord when they would wear out. I paid such a minimum cost of ten dollars or less to have them mailed to me. The quietness was so great when i used them on the airplane. No yelling or plane noise or or or. :-) The speaker finally went out in the right side and i could not fix it. Saw this on ebay and jumped on it as Bose does not make this brand anymore. Everything is wireless except. at age 75 I will take this over wireless anyday.

I like these headphones mostly because I can use them to work almost anywhere: noisy cafe, library, etc. Using noise cancellation helps when sounds are predictable (background hum), but does not totally cancel human voice and conversations. In this case, I also add a bit of white noise to further cancel outside noise. They are very comfortable and do not bother me even after an hour of wearing them. The only downside is that they do not have a passive listening mode -- in other words, they cannot be used as regular non-active noise cancelling headphones. I have to turn noise cancellation in order for the headphones to work. This would have been beneficial to save battery life. At the same time, the battery (AAA) lasts a good while -- for me it was about 3 weeks of everyday use.

I use these on a treadmill to block the sound, and listen to audio tapes or DVDs. The noise cancelling is fantastic at blocking the lower register hum of the treadmill, and they are extremely comfortable. The ear cups are so soft, they feel like pillows. Battery life is good, what's not to like?
