This is not an easy pedal to use. You need to take the time to play with the settings to tailor your sound. It really only shines when you set it up with two amps. Having said all that I like this pedal a lot and although I feel it only lends itself to music that is a little more experimental, as opposed to straight ahead rock and roll, I would recommend it wholeheartedly. I tend to use to change my sound or if I'm stuck and need a little inspiration.

Okay, so is it perfect, maybe not. Are there better trem pedals out there, maybe... But, if you like boss, this is for you. The tremolo is nice, good for what it is. If you want panning, here is where it takes off... The pan feature lets you split the tremolo to two separate amps, so it becomes a real spatial treat. You can do the soft pan, or the hard pan effect to both amps. If you place your amps far apart, the soft-V pan mode gives a nice sea-sick sway that is very unique. Using the hard-U pan will give you a choppy left-right feel—think "Vow" by the band Garbage... Anyway, a pretty cool pedal worth having. I would recommend this pedal two someone who like tremolo and has more than one amp.
Typical Boss construction, so no problems there. Discontinued pedal, so there is scarcity factor. Tremolo I already had, but I do prefer a stereo setup, so was interested in the Pan. This feature exceeded my expectations, and a few minutes experimentation yielded great sounds -- hard chop for special effects, softer wave pan for Hendrix/Trower vibrato. No DejaVibe needed here! Stereo ins mean I can still run a stereo chorus through it. About the only improvement it could stand is the usual tremolo mod -- a slight volume boost to maintain the same apparent volume (I just use a boost pedal in tandem). I wonder why this was disco'd, while a dozen different distortion boxes are still currently in production?
It arrived really quickly and actually looked in better condition than the photographs showed it. Not that it matters, Boss pedals always look better with a little wear on them. Promptly sent and everything works as advertised. A great pedal! Thank you

I got into the Rockabilly style recently after hearing Cadillac Angels playing a local gig and took a look at the pedals being used, one was the Boss PN-2. This is a great little box, compact, doesn't take us a lot of room on the floor or pedal board, built Tonka tuff as are all Boss pedals. Simple as heck to use and super easy on the pocket book.
