Well the spacers and wheels, the plastic parts on the trucks including the axle drive gears have been broken in hafe prier to shipping,, one can tell this by watching the wheels rotate on the test track, seems that Bachmann used bad plastic,, otherwise the Engine looks great just setting,,, I've fixed the problem with White Nylon parts and J.B. Weld and wire on the gears and now with RC and Sound, the shipping was fast, thanks,, The Shay looks great on the Garden Railroad, running and pulling a load, nice seeing all 8 wheels rotating, have a great day and Merry Christmas,,,,,

Higher quality plastic would make this Shay engine a real winner. The plastic doesn't last even when kept in proper enviroments. Mine was stored a couple of years and when tested the motors just made noise with no movement. I had to order new motor trucks, waited alsmost two years, then replaced them to have it work well. No compensation from Bachman and I don't buy their trains anymore..
