I have 4 new late model Bachmann locos, I like the quality and detail for the money spent. However if you have your cars weighed anywhere near NMRA specs you will find the weak power range of the model's motor. With 14 cars, mostly Centerflow Hoppers. The power band plains out at about 65% after that you will see no response in throttle increase, the unit is basically topped out at slightly more than half power. If you run lighter cars or shorter trains you would be ok I suppose. For the money however it is a fine value, just don't expect beast horsepower throughout the entire throttle range when pulling a longer set of cars. They don't light their cabs, and they come on when the track is energized, very noisy. So the first thing you have to do is go through them all and mute them. Kind of a pain on a larger layout.Read full review

Solid construction with great detail. Quite pleased with the product with the classic Wabash name on it. DCC features are enjoyable.

I'm just getting started in model railroading. The engine holds sentimental value to me as a close relative was an engineer on the Wabash line. Despite some minor damage during shipping, I really like the engine.
