Amanda Scott knows historical fiction romance....especially Scottish romance! As Sir William Scott faces hanging for trying to steal back his own cattle, he's offered a deal. He can go free if he marries his captor's eldest daughter, Lady Margaret Murray, who is known to all as Muckle-Mouth Meggie. I had to laugh at this because I was sure I could see Kate in the Taming of the Shrew in this woman! Anyway, Will does agree and takes his new wife back home. he even assures Meg that though he is staunchly loyal to the cause of the Scottish independence, he'll never take up arms against her family. It does take Meg a while to believe that Will's word is his bond, but while doing this she has come upon some information that shows her favorite brother is a spy. Will at this point is facing the dilemma of protecting his country or his new family, but Meg also has a difficult decision to consider. Does she betray her family or the new husband who she has finally fallen in love with? If you love Ms. Scott's books, please read King of Storms and Lady's Choice....both I loved and now will continue to be a fan and try to catch up on some of her older novels.Read full review
