These headphones were purchased as I fly quite regularly and own a pair of (cheap) JVC HA-NC80 that just weren't doing a god enough job. And instead of replacing them with something comparable, I wanted something that would do the job properly. My first impression of these headphones was how comfortable they were, particularly given my slightly wide head, senistive ears and the fact that I wear glasses. They do not seem to be at risk of slipping, yet don't hold my head in a vice-like grip. Many people complain that the faux leather causes sweating around the ears, but I have not noticed anything like that, and I live in a very hot climate. The sound playback quality is not audiophile grade, but it is most definitely passable. In fact, they are certainly above average and I've not noticed anything that an equaliser cannot sort out - the mid and high range was a bit soft. The sound cancelling, however, is as good as they claim. It is excellent. A short flight had me sitting adjacent and just behind to the engine - the worst seat in my opinion. I honestly did not hear a thing from the engines (which caused some entertainment in the cabin when the steward tried getting my attention). Longer flights are a treat now. Another instance was when I was using my vacuum cleaner - once again, I heard very little, and acutally thought there was a problem with the vacuum. One issue that some might have is the feeling of pressurisation on the ear-drums - it's strange and difficult to describe, but I get used to it after about 2 minutes and don't notice it until I remove the headphones. Battery life is also excellent, lasting far longer than my JVC NC80. The jack for iPhones.iPods also usefully includes an in-line control. Unfortunately, the provided cables are proprietary, so if they break or get lost you'll have to buy genuine (oh well). There is also somewhat of a compromise - you do not need the cable in to enjoy silence, but the headphones must be on to listen to any playback. Again, something I consider a small compromise. The headphones come with a carry case that is smart, but takes up quite a lot of space. However, at the normal ticket price you'll want to look after these. I did try many noise-cancelling headphones (at this price you'd be crazy not to), and found them to be by far the most comfortable and best at cancelling noise while delivering good audio playback, but I did cry at the cost.Read full review
The reason for this product purchase was for reviews on sound quality, reviews on use while flying. I find it very easy to use and fitting on the ear is perfect, all assembly of cabling is easy and worry free. One thing I find a great idea is you can remove the cabling from the ear phone and I phone and use it as a noise canceller during a flight. I spent a lot of time checking others but these ear phones a good reviews from other flying personal and it was great value for money and requirements .
I did quite a lot of research and read heaps of reviews about noise cancelling headphones. These Bose headphones were extremely highly rated and were generally considered the best available. I wanted them for my next plane trip which is to Thailand in April, so I'm really looking forward to using them on a flight. I'm already rapt in this product. Great sound, great noise cancelling, easy to operate and they look fantastic. If you need headphones, these are the real deal! I have a cheaper set of Sony headphones which are pretty good, but they're not as comfortable to wear as the Bose. It's been a great purchase.
Weak plastic battery door hinges are fragile and prone to breakage and will subsequently not stay closed. Bose regards this as a non-repairable item, making these a fundamentally un-economic purchase. Poor build quality can never be excused on such expensive items. The unsatisfactory Bose solution (a discounted replacement offer) still makes a replacement cost around $300.

Hi, and I hope this helps everyone out there. I purchased QC15's as a friend ahas some and when you first put them on and flick that switch....WOW! But and this is a big BUT I sadly managed to purchase two fake pairs off ebay one pair was an empty in ear box?? (Did they not think I would notice?) sent from O/S (BEWARE), and the second pair did not work as I remembered my friends working so I went down to the Bose store (45 minutes away)and as soon as the sales assistant saw them he said they were fakes and until I held both and he pointed out what to look at, had I not have noticed them not working as I remembered I would have happily paid and used fake headphones. No the don't feel as comfortable as the real, nor do they work as well, or sound as good nut until you do a side by side for a novice like myself I would have been done like a dinner! But.... The ones I have purchased from the Bose store Audio heaven.....Noise canceled audio heaven best $340 (non Apple compliant so on sale)I have spent in a long time it's sad that ebay is becoming flooded with fakes. Caveat emptor, do your homework and good luck it's worth it they are truly amazing.Read full review
