Man's dream of vocal communication with the animal world will always be a source of material for a good fireside read and this is exception. The idea is t new, but with clever construction and solid characters, Jackie Ahern has woven the fabric of what will be a continued stream of entertainment for all ages. The principle characters are endearing and the animals themselves are perfectly placed to capture the hearts of younger readers. Fear of a wolf, tiger, rat or snake is left behind as each one of these use their natural traits to the good. The storyline is a roller coaster and moves along at an 'edge of the seat' pace, the author succeeding in getting the best out of the relationships between human and animal, the reader is engaged in good versus evil where there is only one outcome... a satisfying conclusion.
