I've had the Cateye Velo 8 on my bike for about 6 rides so far and I'm very happy with it. Has all the functions and readouts I need as a recreational cyclist. The install was easy, just have to take your time and do it correctly. The only thing I didn't like was that the instructions for the installation are just "pictures." You kind of have to guess. But thanks to youtube vids, there are plenty to walk you through it. One last thing is that the unit does not shut off. You can clear your numbers from the ride to 000, but the digital 000 stays put. Hopefully it is not draining the battery. Overall, great value, easy to mount, easy enough to see for the size, and great price to make riding a bit more fun and motivating.

Simple, accurate, reliable and gives you all the data you could want (except possibly elevation)). I would have rated it 5 stars except the unit suddenly failed after about 6 years (used 5 days a week). One suggestion - don't use the wireless set-up - not nearly as reliable)

I had this model for 8 years but all of a sudden it stopped working so I replaced it with this one. Works exactly the way the old one worked. Didn't even have to rewire anything. It just slips right into the old holder and walla it works. This is an older model & was kind of hard to find. So I'm satisfied.

This is a great bicycle computer that includes a clock. The distance measured in hundredths of a mile is encouraging to watch in a headwind. The LCD screen is big and easily readable in the daytime, and I've discovered a way to see it during night time rides; I just stick my hand in front of the headlight and bounce some light to the screen.
