Richard Dealtry originally qualified in engineering but quickly became interested in the subject of management. He has a passion for achieving high management standards and started his career by undertaking redevelopment work in Tube Investment Subsidiary Companies. He subsequently played a major role at Corporate' Senior Executive level in the Mergers and Acquisitions Strategy that made GKN into a major international company. Having a developing interest in the nature of the relationship between Government and Business he took a two year appointment as Under Secretary - Industrial Adviser for Scotland with responsibilities for loan and grant assistance to local enterprise and inwards investment projects in Scotland's Development and Special Development areas. He further extended his experience in economic development intervention strategies by leading the Gulf Region multi Arab Industrial Consulting Group (GOIC) as their Regional Director. Many of the diverse developments in tourism, commerce and down stream energy industries that have subsequently taken place in the Gulf States originate from this early strategic thinking. Since the mid 1980s he has specialised in researching and consulting in the areas of management and organisational development with a view to developing practitioner based learning process concepts and tool-sets that leverage the standards of management performance in both the private and public sectors. These developments are now being applied to achieve transformational change in many organisations.
