The item is light, yet solid with good ergonomics. The materials used is not rubber but more like a solid plastic which explains the weight of it. Very fun to play with or used for training, does not hurt much if you are using a cutting or slicing motion on your partner, stabbing will definitely hurt although the edges are cleaned up at a nice angle where it looks sharp but is actually blunt, can pass as a movie prop. I gave 4 stars out of 5 as the item was labeled rubber which lead me to assume it would be heavier, not that the item was bad but mislead me to believe its constructed material. Great item and good price at the range I recommend this item
