Author Biography
James H. Mendoza is a Salvadorean born American writer who learned English as a second language when he was young. His previous studies allowed him to read English text books, but unable to understand the spoken word. When he came to California in 1975, he had a deep problem because he had to forget what he knew and learn the language from scratch, taking him twice the effort to learn the language correctly an being able to use it in any common daily conversation. The way he learned was in his opinion, not ideal, that is why he has put special attention to the methodology of how he is teaching others, which is the way he would have liked to be taught. Writing an ESL is his contribution to the country by offering a language learning source available to all people's economical capacities, but his main objective is to proliferate the language of the land. Now he still lives in California writing books about human consciousness.
