This is a detailed overview of the magical traditions and practices of the modern western world. The book traces the lineage and beliefs of the major magical disciplines, beginning with the magic societies such as the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons, their link with Christianity, and the splinter groups they evolved into. It also examines the different strands of contemporary witchcraft that are practised. The mysteries of druidry, Wicca, chaos magic, satanism and modern feminist goddess worship are illustrated with images of modern paganism and witchcraft.
