Everyone has one. Some of us, if we are lucky, have two or more. What makes grandmothers so special? We may call her Nana, Grandma, Granny, Grandmother, or simply by her first name, but what ever we call her, memories and inspiration of a Grandmother can last a lifetime. In this volume, writers from around the globe remember this very special family member. Their stories make us laugh, make us cry, teach us about love, loss, he power of memory and the strength of families enduring through generations. The idea of doing an anthology was a sudden one. And once I decided to create Dear Nana (which has gone through a number of name changes along the way), I received over a hundred submissions vying to be in this anthology. I chose the very best and most memorable. And as I read them, sometimes into the wee hours of the morning, I felt especially hored to get to kw a bit about these very special ladies and to share their lives with the world.
