This is one crazy ass game, but it goes to show how damn good Blizzard really is, even pre 2000. Gameplay is nonstop from the get go, and takes place in a town setting, followed by a 16 level dungeon for the entire game. While there are no NPC's to control, and the plot left alot to be desired at times, it is quite remarkable how addictive this game really is. Wanting to clear one floor of the dungeon becomes clearing 5 before you have any idea how much time has really gone by. The game is loaded with great weapons, armor, magic, and artifacts, and while the character inventory is small, (Meaning alot of trips back to towm)there is something to be said to grabbing an undidentified bastard sword, or amulet (Especially when you see that it's unique!) Unlike Diablo 2, enemy attacks almost always come in swarms, which can be EXTREMELY annoying at times. However, this does make for alot more combat strategizing than can be said for most Action/RPG's of it's time. The graphics are mediochre at best, and the character level up system could have been much improved, however this is still a grade A game, and a must play for any gamer. Play this NOW if you haven't already!Read full review
I really like this game because it gives the player the opportunity to create a fantasy character with special characteristics and abilities. Your character will gain experience, increase in talent and ability while traveling to exciting and dangerous places on different quests to discover treasures and/or defeat monsters. One of the best facets of the game is how the player can use strategy, like, searching an area of the game for a longer time hoping to find greater treasure. More time in an area can build more experience for a better outcome of some battles with more challenging monsters. I also like that the creators of this game have crafted story lines that weave and interconnect the background characters, places, monsters and quests to each other. This lays a foundation for you, through your character, to interconnect with game's story and world for an enjoyable fantasy experience. I enjoy getting 'lost' in the game and feeling like I am the character completing the quests and gaining great treasures. This game also has the capability for players to join in on-line games that can enhance the fantasy experience in a shared environment.Read full review
A month ago I came home with my brand new computer, 3GB ram, Nvidia 512mb video card, and 500 Gigs of memory. I also purchased Supreme Commander and Neverwinter nights 2. Out of all the new sophisticated games on the planet I decided to play Diablo 2 LOD, again. After logging back in with my new account(my old one was deleted since I stopped playing for a year), to my surprise there are still 50-100k people playing it online. I quickly get rushed through softcore(Die unlimited times) and hop right back into hardcore(you only live ONCE). After 7 years this game is still fun. Finding items, building your character, crafting equipment is still far superior than most modern action RPGs. The $20 I spent on this battlechest was worth every penny. The Good- Solid gameplay, good music, UNLIMITED replay value, great multiplayer, good cinematics. The Bad- Graphics outdated but still decent, Battle.net still locks you off if you log in and out too fast. The Ugly- Player Killers in Hardcore use hacks and bots, you dont even stand a chance against them; even with the best gear. Alot of hackers in this game in general. Should you buy it? Yes, and get one for a friend too. D2 LOD is much more enjoyable when you have company, helps with item transfers, questing, and most importantly just surviving. If you played D2 before you know how addicting it is, and its cheaper than ever now so hop on eBay and get it!Read full review

Their purpose was to watch for rogue magi that may become corrupted by the forces of Evil. To be effective at this task they were trained in abilities that were not conducive to Demonic corruption. Living as rumor and myth to the general population, even other magi knew very little about this mysterious order. Their reputation was shrouded in mystery and the simple fear of their retribution almost ensured steadfast vigilance against corruption amongst those who knew they were real. Assassins do not employ the magical arts directly; rather, they use enchanted items that mimic elemental powers and can be used autonomously. To further avoid potential corruption, they focus on the natural abilities of the mortal body - powers of the mind and unarmed combat. *Druid -- The Druids who inhabit the northern forests of Scosglen developed their magicindependently from the eastern mage clans. They served as the warrior-kings of their tribes, usually living apart from their people in massive stone towers that were covered with vines and ivy. As masters of the natural world, they were able to control living creatures and the very forces of nature. Perhaps the most notable power of these Druids is their ability to change their form into that of an animal. Because of this ability, the tribes under their rule knew that they could be watched at any time. The sight of what was thought to be a common beast transforming into a vengeful Druid kept many a potential uprising in check. The Druid controls both Elemental and Prime magic. His Elemental powers give him control over fire, earth and the winds. His Primal bond with nature allows him to command many beasts and plants, summoning hawks, wolves, vines, and even natural spirits to do his bidding. He can also change his own shape into creatures such as a huge cave bear, or a dire wolf, and then use these forms to call upon further powers.Read full review
DIABLO BATTLE CHEST contains Diablo I, Diablo II, and Diablo II Expansion with full color manuals, and allows for both offline play and online play with other players - at no extra cost (unlike astronomical rips offs like Everquest, Halo, Heroes/Villains, and Warcraft). The Diablo series is one of the most ingenious, adventursome, enjoyable, and best selling fantasy video games ever made. Characters are controlled by the player and come in a range of fighters and magic users. Game controls are extremely easy to use, and the ingame soundtrack is stunning. I'm not a computer game geek so I can't give all the technical terms for all of the interactive gems this game offers.
