the universe of stomp boxes and other musical effects tools can sometimes seem like it's over-flowing with an almost endless assortment of both stellar apparati and space junk. it takes a lot of research and frankly, cash, to keep up with the ever-shifting possibilities. if ya lean toward conventional wisdom, Boss devices have a good reputation as a benchmark for mid-level pricing mated to solid build quality and sound. Line 6 sorta the same. then, on the lower end, Behringer often gets high marks for economy cost in fair ratio to build and sound. on the upper end, well...as a hobbyist player i guess i don't go there because i don't have to concern myself with the demands of professional gigging. saves me $ too. which is why i often end up dropping my scarce benjamins on the Digitech X-Series brand. super solid build + solid reputation + reasonable cost. and in-fact, the DigiDelay pedal as much as any of the X-Series boxes, IMHO, offers more features and sound possibilities than anything close to the same price. chorus effects, looping, tap capability, a range of delay times... dang, two weeks in and i'm still discovering new combinations and sounds on the critter. yeah, sure, the manual offers virtually no steering--so if you're a novice player, you're basically left to figger things out on your own. and yeah, the looping and tap functions especially, are not intuitive or quickly grokked. youtube demos helpyou find your way a littlebit--but hey, that's kinda okay with me--especially if i rationalize that creativity often erupts outta my belly the more i'm left fending for myself. (kinda like the little creature that bursts from that astronaut's innards in the first Aliens flick) which is all to say: Digitech X-Series DigiDelay...you are my Sigourney Weaver of spacey guitar effects devices. You look good, you sound good, and you can always be relied on when there's an alien looking to launch out of the dark, murky reaches of my barren musical inner-landscape.Read full review
Th Digitech line of pedals are some of my favorite effects ( the reason I use them ) They are hefty, a lot more than the light weight Boss pedals....don't get me wrong though boss is ok ( I own a few myself )...just over rated IMO. The multi facets of the DigiDelay including the short loop time...(all I need) as well the stereo out feature and silent operation is what we all want ( no noise period )and true bypass are all likes. As far as comparing to other delay pedals....The tap tempo feature and (reverse ability).... although I, seldom used this is a plus; along with the stereo out, about a pound and a half of pedal as opposed to some of the light weights out there and true bypass and absence of noise make the DigiTech DigiDelay worth more to me than the over rated over priced pedals.Read full review
Hey, this is not a bad pedal. I picked it up at a decent price because I didn't have the dough to shell out for a Boss at the time, but wanted to mess around with some delays. Has a decent sound to it, but does noticeably color the sound a bit. A little dark perhaps would fit it, but not offensively different from dry tone. Nice width of available delay times. The loop function is pretty snazzy. You can layer a lot of different sounds with it. Simple operation makes it a breeze to plug n play and use on the fly. Has a reverse delay, but I can't see myself really taking advantage of that aspect of the pedal. But it's got it if you want it. Seems pretty well constructed, and should hold up for the foreseeable future. No tap mode, but hey, there are price breaks on things like that. Pretty good bang for the buck.Read full review
Amazing pedal! Does everything you could want and more! Well- built, no concerns whatsoever about the quality of parts or construction. The only reason I might have taken half a star off is because there is a very faint fuzz/flange in the background when playing with the pedal on - and only when you hit a note, not when you're silent, even if the pedal is switched on. And you don't really notice it if you're using any distortion or OD. Other than that, tone is great, nice and clean. Couldn't ask for much more!
I love these pedals. Ive dropped mine a couple of times and it keeps on jammin. You can get alot of different sounds by tweaking the knobs around. Highly recommended for the price you cant go wrong!!
