I bought this book because I was named in the dedication page, having done the consulting on it. So, I'm biased to an extent. I do think that you can get a greater understanding of youth gangs and the emotional and societal reasons behind gang involvement. You wouldn't really expect this from a Robert Parker book, but having spent 30 years working in the inner city with gang-involved kids, I think this book can be a resource. Anything that helps us understand the life of someone else is probably a good thing.
