The Editors: Val D. Rust is Professor of the Department of Education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research work focusses especially on comparative and international educational studies. Peter Knost and Juergen Wichmann are research assistants of the Comparative Education Centre at the Humboldt-University at Berlin.
