I didn`t let this album go un-noticed by me, as soon as I played it back in 1973 there was serveral songs that caught my ear, For Ol` Times Sake is the best song on it for sure and I Miss You is another great song, I also like Just A Little Bit and If You Don`t Come Back and Girl OF Mine is another great song too, I have played it for quite a few Non - Elvis fans and most of them liked Three Corn Patches, so as you can see there is something for everyone and I would rate this an 8 out of 10 and let`s don`t leave out the title song Raised On Rock.........
I am a big fan of Elvis, but had never heard Girl of Mine until recently. As soon as I heard the song, I knew I had to have the CD. Went on ebay and found it immediately and purchased it. It came within a few days. I play it over and over. Love it!
This is defenetly not one of his best albums. A kind of sleepy mid-70's LP that passed by rather unnoticed. There is, however, one really good reason to buy it, "For Ol' Times Sake". This song, is actually one of Elvis' best songs of the 70's. A tender, soft ballad that really gives me goosebumps. You probably won't find this song on many compilations. Really too bad that it has been forgotten.
Elvis at his best, from the title song Raised on Rock to the sweet balad Sweet Angeline and everthing in between, Great songs, great vocals, the only thing I did not like is the albulm has only 10 songs, wish it had 30. Love it. LONG LIVE THE KING
