A terrific CD by a largely underrated folk singer and songwriter. Buy it. If you understand the futility of war, or suspect that there should be an alternative to war...buy it!

An admirable collection of Eric Bogle's ever popular earlier songs. Fifteen tracks ranging from the sick humour of 'He's Nobody's Moggy Now' to the sweet 'Glasgow Lullaby' and the sad 'Singing the Spirit Home'. The voice remains good, Bogle's diction is excellent and the instrumental work is as effective as ever. My two personal favourites, 'No Man's Land' and 'The Band Played Waltzing Mathilda' are perhaps better performed by the incomparable June Tabor, but it is always satisfying to hear the composer's own version. I expected this disk to be good, and it is very good indeed.
i wanted several of erics records to save buying loads of cds wih some songs i was not so keen on what better way to buy is there than this album which is like a greatest hits album .A great sad and funny album.
