Grand Designs is as much about the harsh realities of Project Management as it is about the owners building their dream houses. There are some fantastic houses on display and an occasional architects nightmare. It is amazing what people can think of. I don't recommend watching too many back to back episodes or making it a marathon for the weekend, but the series, whether it is set in the UK, Australia or New Zealand is a refreshing insight into the day to day life on a construction site where not everything runs to plan on schedule or budget.
