2455LMT does live traffic via its radio receiver and lifetime maps. This is my 4th unit. Pros Easy to use, when it works clear simple screens software for upgrade works well easy to repair, just remove 4 screws and you are in to the guts memory card extends its life but delay getting new maps to once a year see cons Cons routing away from highways to backways sometimes is done without the users knowledge, if the Garmin sees traffic via the radio, it will route away from it, even if the traffic is not so severe, YELLOW upgrading takes a long time, about 1 hr, no matter how fast your connect speed is, and as the maps get bigger the unit responds slower radio traffic is less accurate than google maps, but otherwise fine Cheaply made, compared to older Garmin models, but most all new GPS units are the USB port is easily broken and has to be repaired in many units, this is my 4th, I buy low cost units to use for spares, just resolder all its connections and it will be fine, screen is just snap in replacement the touch screen is fragile, so get a hard case to store it in when not in use, or in a bag anything pressing on the screen hard can crack it Read full review

Pros used unit since 2013 Easy to learn to use fast reliable GPS radio, fast to sync never drops good GPS and map electronics, works well out of box free lifetime maps traffic radio works reliably where available memory card slot is necessary and comes with this model Cons upgrades to firmware and maps take a 1 hr each time with each upgrade, response of electronics gets slow and will fill memory quickly, SD card is more necessary than optional USB port break connections and gets loose after 2 years, needed to be resoldered to mobo touch screen became erratic after 4 years, needed replacement Case is prone to crack after only 3 years of sun exposure, needed replacement I bought 2 used unit for parts to repair my current unit for Cons above.

I'm really liking the 2455 LMT. It's super easy to use. Maps are easy to update. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend it to anyone who doesn't want/need the newest fanciest gadget, but just wants directions. Given 4/5 stars only because it can be confusing as to what direction the vehicle is facing on the map when starting from a stand-still. Once you start moving the map orients itself so your direction is clear, sometimes resulting in the need for an immediate u-turn.

This is my fourth Garmin Nuvi receiver. I had the Nuvi 660. 760, and 780 before I went with the 2455. I have to say that the 780 with MSN direct service was my favorite of my three previous models, but I have to say that this model is by far my favorite of the four. I liked the MSN direct service, but MSN discontinued the service so my Nuvi 780 was just like the Nuvi 760 I previously had. The lane assist feature with the picture of the exit and the exit sign has been a tremendous help. I was amazed that the picture that displays is an actual picture from that exit. This helps give a visual point of reference for the upcoming exit which makes it that much easier to famailarize yourself with the exit. I went ahead and purchsaed the LMT (Lifetime map updates and lifetime traffic) because the map updates can run $50 per update, and that can add up where it it cheaper to just purchase a new GPS instead of doing the map updates. That is one of the reasons I have purchased a couple of the new devices. The only thing I would change about this model is the 4.3" display. I really wish I would have gone with the 2555 instead of the 2455. My previous Nuvis had Bluetooth, but I decided against going with that feature on this because I found that I never used it. The Bluetooth speakerphone was pretty much worthless because callers couldn't hear over the road noise. I find the speakerphone or a Bluetooth headset to be more handy. The only thing I miss about the Bluetooth feature on the GPS is when I would pull up a POI the phone number would display and I could dial the number from the GPS and not have to take my eyes off the road or pull over to initiate the call. Overall I give this GPS a 4/5 with the smaller display being the main thing I would change. I would definitely recommend the Nuvi 2555, and if I had it all over I would go with that model instead. I hope this review helps, and if I can answer any other questions about it let me know!Read full review
THe only thing about this item since i bought it refurb, a very not really concerning glimpse on screen touching. Everything else seems do the work for me. Very fast , satelite scanning. I believe the 5' will be better but i dont seems have too much problem having the 4.3 I am tom tom guy for years , i think garmin are better in style, accuracy. I dont seems any needs for bluetooth also. THis model really do my uber job's. quickly searching the address and pointing out fastest route ... second route and ... third route..... i havent much play with setting but really like the free theme that they have , I dont really worry about the speaking features ( i really dont want to bother my passenger that much). with the price range , i am sure it is a great gps you can get for bucks.
