Great, tight sounding tone! The mid eq sweep feature adds that extra warmth you look for when playing at low volume. The built in limiter is a great feature. Easy to use controls, I found that if you don’t pass 3 o’clock on the bass and mids the limiter is not going to effect the sounds. I’d give it a five star rating if the two options of a mute feature with a built in tuner. I used it at rehearsal and it kept up pretty well considering I had the volume around 1 o’clock, and everyone was very loud that day! Bottom line is it’s a great sounding, easy to use light weight punchy and warm sounding single speaker amp! If you’re looking to lighten the load and get rid of your full stack, this amp will get you back some of the fullness once you find your settings.

I recently purchased a Hartke KB-12 and wanted to share my opinion. I should point out that although i am a well seasoned drummer, i am not a seasoned bass player. Upon taking it out of the box, ot seems surprisingly light. Almost too light, for claiming to be 500 watts. That being said, it is also surprisingly loud and clear. It also seems to have good tone variation and even works as a PA or monitor. However.......... After playing for a few minutes, the fan kicks on, which in my ipinion, is much too loud for playing a small gig where y9u sometimes need quiet. I pulled out my db meter and clocked it. Before turning it on, my db meter was at 44db. After then fan came on, i slowly increased to 50db. In other words, itmis as loud as a noisy PC with dual fans, but quieter than an x-box 360. If you want an amp for low volume gigs, and there is a fan on stage anyway, likely no one but you will even notice. If you require dead silence between breaks in a song, you will be frustrated. As for recording, the sounds tends to be unnoticable for the most part, but i should also point out my room is decked out with lots of Auralex foam panels. I would have probably given this 5 stars, had i known about the loud fan noise before i purchased, but i didn't, so,i was dissappointed. Hope that helpsRead full review

This is one great little amp. Plenty of power, great sound, and very lightweight. Played an outdoor gig with it last Saturday night and it sounded amazing. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent tone with EQ at noon across the board. Powerful deep volume with tilt back makes hearing your bass in the mix at concert levels no problem . I wish Hartke had added a compressor, but at this price point with no compromise on build quality so I’m not really disappointed. I can use a pedal compressor.

Worked fine but just to small for my band use. It could also use a tweeter or horn for more clarity.
