Monty Python are one of the most loved British comedy groups. The Python phenomenon developed from the TV series into touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to international stardom. Their influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music. Holy Flying Circus is a fantastical reimagining of the controversy in both the USA and UK surrounding the release of Monty Python's 1979 film 'Life of Brian'. It follows the build up to Michael Palin and John Cleese's defence of the film on the BBC2 discussion program 'Friday Night, Saturday Morning' in 1979.
