Firstly, this is a strictly dual-core CPU with no hyperthreading, but this is a fast dual-core CPU that you can overclock. The processor, before overclocking, is good on it's own. It is low power-consumption and has good instructions per-clock. This is a great CPU for mini-itx builds or HTPC's and a stock Intel CPU cooler is more than enough and will stay quiet. This CPU will run some AAA games--you'll need to research what games have issues with only two cores/two threads. Many games really don't need core/thread count, but certain games have reported issues. If you have a socket 1150 motherboard and are looking for a budget ~$40-50 CPU to play games on, I'd advise a Haswell-generation Pentium, like this one, over an FX series AMD processor. HOWEVER If you haven't purchased a motherboard, yet, I'd advise purchasing an Ivy-Bridge i5 - something like an i5 3470 for about $10-$15 more. This is a true quad core with similar IPC performance that doesn't warrant the worry of dual-core issues in modern games.Read full review

Pros: 54w TDP Unlocked Processor High Overclock Potential Built on 22nm Technology Inexpensive ($50-70 price range) Cons: DDR3-1333 support only Dual-Core only No HyperThreading No AVX Support Shaky Windows 10 Support Other Thoughts: This processor may be based on Haswell however it's not a Core i7. Don't think that it can't harass a Core i7 in a few benchmarks, because it does strangely. This processor can be overclocked to about 4.5 GHz reliably; 4.7 GHz with some samples. I guess yields of some chips do vary, if you're lucky to get one that can reach this frequency. Mostly aimed at professional overclockers as no one will run this chip at stock frequency. I was able to reach 3.7 GHz without touching the voltage settings. I don't feel comfortable increasing the voltage as I don't want to damage the processor. What's not to like about this processor? An unlocked processor for $70... unheard of. Intel Corporation did an outstanding job creating this processor. Windows 10 will not run properly without modifications if you should choose to use this processor in your computer. For best results use Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 with a configuration using this processor.Read full review

This CPU is great for casual web surfing and light gaming since it provides an excellent overclocking even with the provided cooler. It was just a few clicks to overclock it to 4.2 Ghz, and it makes the overall experience very snappy. If you don't need to run applications that demand parallel computations such as encoding video, then this CPU is a good candidate for your daily uses. Its power consumption is also very low like 35W ~ 70W for the system excluding monitor from my wall. Highly recommended.

Get a descent air cooler put it in a board that will over clock and run it at 4.2 ghz+ it will do all you ask it to, witcher 3 and other AAA. I have 2 of these both run 4.4 ghz 1.296 vcore and 4.5 ghz at 1.25 vcore for over a year, temps are easy to manage all the way up into the 1.4 vcore settings which you can do for in benchmarking for funzies with good cooling, but i do not run them everyday past 1.3 volts everyday. Best 50 bucks you will ever spend on a new cpu.
