Author Biography
Liam Clarke is a lecturer in mental health and ethics at the University of Brighton. He has published papers on a wide range of topics, but with a central focus on the critical review of psychiatric nursing principles and practice. He is currently working on a history of therapeutic communities in England. In addition to bringing up her young family, Tracy Flanagan is also a clinical nurse specialist who worked for South Downs NHS Trust at the time this study was completed. She assembled the raw data upon which this book is based in response to concerns about the nature and quality of inpatient psychiatric care.
