The text is choppy and repetitive. The authors switch focus too often within sections. This is supposed to be an introduction to mythology, but assumes the reader already has a strong background in at least the major myths/cultures. A lot of "name-dropping" without solid context. The commentary in the margins is distracting, especially all the cross-referencing previous of chapters.
