Lonely Planet produce really good guide books from report of backpackers on the road. This is a good idea and principle, however, some places lack very much from backpackers interest therefore give a big miss. It would be understandable for some small village or town, but for exemple Nagoya got totally missed out. Come on guys, Nagoya is Japan 4th city with 2 millions inhabitant, a city of same size as Paris!! For exemple, in this edition it report the best noodles shop for the whole Nagoya city is in the Nagoya main train station, you need to pay to get in this soul less noodles stand which is the exact same as all over the country. No, it made me feel that the people who wrote this were on a bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto and had a Noodles bowl there. Nobody from Nagoya will agree with this issue. This guidebook is useful for people interested in travelling to the Japan main attraction, Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka. Tips are good though.Read full review
