Works exactly like it should, and adds a TON of value to the FoodSaver machine. My only regret is not buying these jar sealers sooner. It makes cold pickling a snap. *Tip: When the vaccum cycle is complete, disconnect the hose from the sealer attachment to release the vaccum. It makes removal of the sealer from the sealed jar easy. You can also just stack another lid on top of the sealing lid, but disconnecting the vaccum line is easier.

Great look and vacuum hose fits well. Not able to get the lid to seal with the sealer. Seems to be good construction and make for the shape. The vacuum seal for both are the same. not able to pull a vacuum at all and not lid does not remain on the jar when the product is removed. Refuses to give up lid and does not hold a vacuum at all but lid goes in stiff and comes out only with effort much effort. No seal was made at all and just comes loose inside the product. Very hard to get the lid out to remove it. Could be just me but both are the same with no sealing or lid removal. Does not match the video of how to use it.

Product is finicky and has design flaws that I have worked around. Foodsaver says to put a second lid upside down in the sealer - but what I did was add 3 small furniture bumpers inside the sealer instead. In addition, when removing the jar sealer, it would catch on the metal lid and break the seal. I solved that problem by taking a thick piece of flexible plastic and after sealing, inserted in between the lid and the blue rubber gasket on the sealer. I run the piece of plastic around the jar top and the top comes off without breaking the seal. Its a pain to have to do this because of a faulty design but I haven't had any problems since I started to do this. The Wide mouth jar sealer works perfectly as is.

Some jar & lid combinations just don't work, probably due to small variations in size, smoothness and fit but it works pretty well usually. Occasionally the lid gets pulled off simply by friction with the rubber sealing ring as it's lifted. Overall, it's a pretty good item, I feel it is too expensive considering the tiny amount of material and ease of manufacturing of such a simple piece of kitchenware. I have the 'large' jar sealing device which has the same positives and negatives.

It's just what it's name says food saver. Saving dried foods on canning jars is so easy with this vacumn sealer. Rice drien beans, anything from the garden that has been dried can be kept for years! (Wish I had this 29 years ago.) Ben
