    It works. Clear instructions.

    When everything was soldered back together it works fine. The instructions are clear - the only problem I had was disconnecting soldered on wires from the mains and motor to get at the circuit board. They were crimped/wound round the connectors with too much solder to see how they were fixed. The old capacitors had bent connecting wires as well so needed straightening before they would disconnect (and solder removing). Fitting the replacements was easy. Switching it on and seeing it working was satisfying.

    Good kit makes for a straight-forward repair

    Our old Kenwood chef took up smoking whilst mixing a cake with usual 'burnt vinegar' electric smell to match. Opened up the motor compartment to see 'gunge' around the capacitor. Ordered repair kit , which arrived in 2 days and had a straight-forward solder job to replace the capacitor and a diode. Now fully functional again, hopefully for another 40 years - built to last.

    How to please your wife

    Disaster mixer stopped working no smoking no noises. Stripped it down fault obvious circuit board components burnt. Obtained components required from supplier on E Bay .Correct parts and fitting information supplied promptly. Parts soldered to circuit board mixer rebuilt Now works fine and mixes cakes .Wife happy new lease of life old mixer . Thanks Jack

    Effective repair

    Had a smoking kenwood chef that I thought had ended its life, read about this repair and thought I'll have a go, parts arrived quickly along with a helpful email. Found the repair not too challenging with the help of a cheap solder pump to remove the old solder. Watched a few online how to solder videos and gave it a go. Once completed I plugged the mixer in and asked the wife to switch it on whilst I stood back! It worked fine, runs sweetly and no smoke! Would highly recommend having a go. Doing this gave me the confidence to repair my boiler which required a new relay soldering in this week 😀
