As a Kaffee Fassett fabric groupee I found his latest book of quilt designs to be beautifully photographed and well-organized. From the first section in which each of the twenty colorful quilts are displayed in various locations on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta, to the article by Mary Mashuta on color and fabric, to the third section with the diagrams, directions and patterns; this book is well worth the money (even you paid the original published price, let alone the auction price!). This is the third Kaffee Fassett quilt book that I have purchased, each has explicit directions and diagrams if you forllow them carefully. However, they are not for the beginner or for those who like to alter patterns or diagrams. You must be precise with these directions. I have made three quilts from Kaffee's books and they all are stunning. His sense of color combining is superb. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys creating something that is a bit less traditional and extremely colorful. Its also the perfect gift for the non-traditonal quilter.Read full review
If you like quilting, you will like any one of the many Kaffe Fassett books available today. Even if you don't like his color combinations, his instructions are wonderful. Even a newbie quilter can understand them and have wonderful results with just one quilt. I highly recommend this book and any of the other patchwork books by Kaffe Fassett.
Kaffe Fassett is a world renown artist in design and colour. If you have not seen this book and you are a Quilter, I highly recomend you purchase it. It is the best eye candy I have had in a long time. and his patterns are very well illustrated. It's my pleasure to have this opportunity to share Kaleidoscope with you. Judy
