Kitty, Daisy and Lewis have recaptured the simple foot tapping, swinging bluesy shuffle sound of the 'good old days', and it's hard to not listen without thinking back to a time when things were much simpler and a good time was easier to have. Kitty, Daisy and Lewis aren't going to earn the mantle of greatest guitarist of all time or songwriters of the year award any time soon, but they should definitely be recognised for their ability to release consistently great music and in a genre that is sorely missing consistently great artists! These guys for me really do set the standard for feel good jump blues music, and my record collection is all the richer for having Kitty, Daisy and Lewis albums within it. So it's an album with songs on it. No surprises there. Some of the songs are phenomenal and some are good - none are bad in my opinion. If you want to know what songs are the best and what songs are not the best, buy the album and listen to it, as it's beyond any review to state these opinions based on anything but that - their opinion. There's really no secret to it - if you buy this album and love it, then it's money well spent. If you buy it and hate it - discovering all too late that it doesn't sit well with your Metallica and Fantomas albums, then I assure you that you will make a full recovery. Many people have taken a gamble and purchased music that didn't live up to their dreams - wrap it up and give it to a work colleague for their birtheday and move on. But if you like their other stuff, then you'll like this stuff. If you haven't heard these guys before and are looking for a starting point into their music, then this is as good a starting place as any. As I said early, these guys are consistently good, and just this side of different enough to keep me coming back for more and more of their awesome sound. One more thing: this style of music really lends itself to vinyl! Just like putting a Tom Waits CD on kind of loses something of a nostalgic spirit compared to the slow, lazy, deliberate process of choosing a record, this album and others by Kitty, Daisy and Lewis call for the ceremony of firing up the analog turntable, choosing it from the pile, and deliberately listening to it. And when it's discovered again by the grand children, they just might wrongly assume it's ancient - from the 1950's or even 1040's when the order of the day was fatburgers and milkshakes... not from 2016 when iPods and streaming ruled the music world, not vinyl and wax, and the go to snack was kale shakes with a side of concentrated oxygen.
