Fury was the other big label from the Robinson brothers (the bluesier Fire was the other) and One Day's 2014 compilation Let's Stick Together: The Fury Records Story showcases it at its best. Fury specialized in R&B and doo wop and they had some actual hits: Wilbert Harrison's "Kansas City" and "Let's Stick Together" and Lee Dorsey's "Do-Re-Mi" and "Ya Ya" being the anchors. Elsewhere, they had early singles by Gladys Knight & the Pips, singles from Frankie Lymon's brother Lewis, and a host of great doo wop singles that make for a terrific sampler of '50s R&B on this nice set. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
