These headphones were a replacement for the PMX80s I had that got damaged while travelling. As a heads up, Sennheiser don't honour their warranty unless you have a receipt from a recognised store, and the previous pair were purchased from someone who could (or would) not do that. So despite still being within the warranty period I had to ditch the other pair. That was a bummer, and Sennheiser really should lift their game - the age of gouging Australians really should be over. I like the fact that these are waterproof as I run with them in all sorts of weather. So far they have not failed me, but I worry about the fact that the cable comes in two parts. You can connect them directly to your MP3 player (or whatever) or you can include the part that has the volume control and connect that to your device. Perhaps it's not a problem, but on those particularly nasty Queensland days when the rain is bucketing down, I can't imagine how it won't get inside and start to corrode. I also don't like the fact that there's no clip at neck level. The PMX80s had this, and it was great to prevent your cable getting tangled, pulling on you when it slips a bit, or otherwise getting fouled and making you stop to fix it. Its lack diminishes the value of the product. These behind the ear type of headphones are great for when you're running (and ear buds will eventually fall out), or when (like me) your ears are just not suited to ear buds. They're comfortable, light, and give great quality sound. The volume control is particularly nice when you're running in varying areas so you can turn it up while running near the road, and turn it back down again when you head into parkland. It avoids having to fiddle with your iPod or other MP3 player. We'll see whether the volume control eventually starts to decay and get scratchy and have dead spots like so many of them do. So, assuming this either doesn't need warranty, or else the warranty is available through the original seller, then I would buy these again. They're pricey compared to what else is available, but I think the build quality generally makes up for it.Read full review
I looked hard for a pair of rugged,light-weight headphones that I could carry easily and that would not fall out while running and working out. They sounded a little muddy at first, but after a little while, the drivers broke-in and I'm very happy with their sound quality. These headphones fit very comfortably, they're very light and flexible and reassuringly rugged. Overall, I'm really pleased with these well designed headphones and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, especially for the price.

I have trouble with earphone buds staying in my ears, so I want something that is lightweight but holds the earphones in place. The PMX680 are excellent at that. They are comfortable to wear and the earpieces sit comfortably in the ears. The cord is long enough and it comes with a volume control (though you can use it with a short section of cord and no volume control). The sound quality is excellent for listening to music. I hope the connection of the cord to the unit will last the distance. I bought a second pair to use on my computer with the first pair on my iPod. Great headphones.
I have had a lot of PMX variants over the years and the 80 has been my favorite and the PMX in general is my favorite headphones for running. In head winds the sound can be washed out and the sound while good is not fantastic, but they just do not move on your head once they are on.

Jeasousy persuaded me to join the high tech folk jogging around parks while listening to their favourite music so I armed myself with an MP3 player. Oops, the supplied earphones either had to be rammed into my ears until they hurt and blocked out all other sounds, or they kept falling out. My search began. I wanted quality earphones that did not hurt or fall out and also wanted to hear surrounding noise to avoid stepping into the path of a vehicle. I found Sennheiser. They wrap around my ears and are a delight.
